Plasterboarding (Dry lining) - South London

Plaster boarding (Dry lining) is the securing of plasterboards to ceilings & dividing walls.The type of plasterboards that need to be used is dictated by where in the property they are required.

For instance if being fitted in a bathroom or wet room it’s necessary to use a ‘Moisture board’. These are designed to be appropriate for rooms where conditions can get damp because of showers etc.

If it’s desirable to reduce sound in a property then ‘Soundproof boards’ can be an effective Plaster boarding (Dry lining) solution.

Importantly on areas such as kitchen ceilings ‘Fire Shield board’ need to be used. These have a pink surface to help indicate to interested parties such as building control that they have been fitted appropriately. The increased fire resistance of these boards make them appropriate for arras with higher fire risks.

Also there are various types of boards that can be fitted for areas that will be tiled.
